Privacy Policy.

What we collect, why, and how you stay in control of it.

Waymker is a ministry, not a business, and we built this platform to serve the body of Christ — not to harvest it. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

1. What we collect

Account information you give us directly: name, email, phone (optional), profile photo, bio, skills, and the community (cell) you join. Content you create: posts, messages, events, marketplace listings, tickets/requests, and comments. Location, only if you choose to share it — a ZIP code to find your local community, or a verified GPS location for the map and distance features. Usage information such as which cells you belong to, notification preferences, and basic device/browser information needed to keep the site secure and working.

2. What we don’t do

We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not use your content to train external AI models. We are not funded by an ad-tech business model, so there is no incentive to harvest attention or personal data beyond what the platform itself needs to function.

3. How your content is shared

Waymker is built around communities (“cells”) arranged from neighborhood house churches up to national scope. Content you post is visible to members of the cell you posted in, and — by design — flows upward to broader cells above it (your house church’s post can surface at the city or state level) so the wider body can see what God is doing. It does not flow sideways into unrelated communities. Leaders of a community (moderators, elders, admins) can see content posted within their cells in order to shepherd and moderate it. Content marked private (like prayer/support requests) is visible only to you and the people helping you.

4. Location data, specifically

Location sharing is opt-in. A ZIP code is enough to connect you to your local community. Precise GPS location is only requested for features you explicitly use — verifying your home community, live location during an emergency-response check-in, or map-based discovery — and you can turn location sharing off at any time in your profile settings.

5. Your rights

You can review and edit your profile information at any time. You can export a copy of your data (your profile, posts, messages, listings, and requests) from Profile → Settings → Privacy & Security. You can request account closure from the same screen — because we are a community, not a self-serve SaaS product, a real person reviews closure requests rather than an instant automated delete, so we can make sure content shared in trust (like ongoing prayer or mutual-aid threads) is handled with care.

6. Security

Your data is stored with Postgres row-level security enforced on every table, meaning the database itself — not just the application — enforces who can see what. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and never stored in plain text. Administrative actions (role changes, suspensions, content moderation) are permission-gated and auditable.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll post the update here with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of Waymker after a change means you accept the updated policy.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data? Reach out through a support request from any community you belong to, or see our Terms of Service.
